Pints for Non-profits and JCS Staff Band

Thank you to REDWOOD CURTAIN BREWERY for offering to support JCS
Wednesday, January 17 with a Pints for Nonprofits Day!

$1 for every pint sold at Redwood Curtain Brewery from noon-midnight  on January 17 will be donated to the school.  Last year we used the proceeds to purchase new drinking fountains!

Our JCS Staff Band will be playing from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and the LoCo Fish Truck will be selling food.  If families are interested, we could organize daycare here at JCS for the evening.  Please email Mrs. Nannizzi and let her know if you would be interested in JCS daycare that evening.

Mark your calendars for this fun event that benefits our school!  Thank you Redwood Curtain Brewery!!!

Save the Date for the JCCEF Auction!

This year’s auction is on St. Patrick's Day at the Arcata Community Center.  Our school is lucky to have such a wonderful community that supports our students. Please help with selling tickets, collecting donations, filling classroom basket, donating baskets or setting up the day of the auction. If you would like to be a business sponsor for this year’s auction please contact Mrs. Walsh by January 31st.
We hope everyone will help us bring in the green to make our auction a success. The auction and pentathlon fund many of the activities we do at school including Music, Drama, Sports, Technology, PAT Days, Library Books, Second Grade Swimming, JCS Live, Third Grade Dune Field Trips and many more things that create a rainbow of learning here at Jacoby Creek. Take a look at the website for more information.

Science Fair

The JCS Science Fair is coming up and we are looking for people to help out with judging.  If you have never judged before, we will train you.  If you have a child who is participating in the science fair this year we will have you judge a different grade level.
We aim to have every science fair project judged three times and will need to expand our pool of people to meet that goal.
Judging for the 2018 JCS Science Fair will take place over the weekend of Feb. 10th - 11th.  If you are interested and available to judge, please give your name and phone number to:
Nancy Rickard  822-1352 (
If you have questions, please contact Nick Dedini at
Thank you so much!

We are looking forward to wonderful projects for our JCS Science Fair!

Register Siblings for 2018-19 School Year

The lottery for registration at JCS for the 2018-2019 school year is on January 19--Right around the corner!!  If you currently have a student at JCS and are planning on a sibling starting school next year, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you register them prior to January 12.  For families that do not live in our district, siblings have priority registration, but we need to know that they are coming. They will not have priority after the lottery. Even if you do live in the district, please register siblings ASAP in order to help us plan for our enrollment.  Please email or call Melanie Nannizzi if you have any questions.
